The acceleration of a motorboat is primarily due to the forces generated by the boat's engine. When the engine propels the boat forward, it creates a force that pushes the boat in the direction of motion, resulting in acceleration. Additionally, the resistance of the water against the boat's hull also plays a role in the acceleration, as the boat pushes against the water to move forward. These combined forces work together to accelerate the motorboat. **
